**Description**
Our company participates in various projects across Middle East region in such countries as UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. At the moment we are looking for experienced Database Administrator to join our team for one of the project in that region.

**Responsibilities**
- Managing and Improving the database systems in production and development environments
- Participate in maintenance upgrades and migrations
- Automate management of new and existing databases to ensure that processes are repeatable and scalable
- Tune performance by using the latest diagnostic tools to identify inefficient SQL statements or underlying problems
- Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialised role
- Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
- Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
- Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity

**Requirements**:

- BSc degree in Computer Science (or related field) and at least 5 years of experience as a Database administrator
- Have knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL replication with the desire to expand on this knowledge
- Have knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party
- tools
- Familiarity with programming languages API
- Be experienced in using various database backup and recovery tools and techniques
- Experience with monitoring relational and NoSQL databases
- Be familiar with DB performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience in automation and configuration management, preferably with tools such as Ansible
- Strong skills in Unix Shell Scripting
- Have experience of handling large OLTP systems
- Experience in using different DB tools like pgAdmin, phpadmin, DBeaver, DataGrip, Toad
- Show expertise in query visualization tools like Tableau, Looker
- Be an excellent communicator and believe in working collaboratively
- Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
- Long business trips to Middle East. On-site work for 1-2 weeks per month.

**Nice to have**
- Experience with GCP or similar cloud computing environments
- Big Data Experience
- Experience with Python
- Experience with ETL tools like Pentaho
