**Project Overview**:
Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. **Job Summary**:
In this role, you will report to the Special Systems Lead and be accountable for supervising and managing the work of the customer’s designers and contractors in the delivery of design for the airport terminal buildings Baggage Handling Systems. You manage and review the development of the designer’s and contractors’ design deliverables, prepare work plans, progress reports and assist with the tender, evaluation and award recommendations for the BHS contractors.

You will coordinate and collaborate with other teams such as the Terminal Delivery teams, Stakeholder Management, Contracts & Procurement and Start-up/Commissioning as required through all stages of the Project life cycle. Your technical expertise and coordination will ensure outcomes meet customer and project requirements.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Review and comment upon the BHS system functional design specifications and design deliverables issued by the customer’s designer(s).
- Supervision and management of the customer’s designers and contractors in the delivery of terminal buildings BHS systems design in accordance with the Project schedule and engineering procedures.
- Ensure all designer and contractor deliverables comply with the relevant codes and standards.
- Ensure BHS conveyor and equipment layouts are properly coordinated with the building structure and architectural plans within the 3D BIM model environment.
- Support to Contracts & Procurement in the delivery of design to support procurement and post tender technical evaluation and award recommendations.
- Monitoring & reporting on the progress and performance of the customer’s designers and contractors.
- Coordination with the Stakeholder Management team to ensure that all required permits and approvals are achieved in a timely manner throughout the Project life cycle.
- Coordinate BHS systems design with other project disciplines, review project design criteria, vendor submissions, construction inspection records and startup test reports
- Coordinate BHS systems design integration across numerous contracts, work packages and stakeholders.
- Support the production of verification packages to facilitate turnover of completed mechanical systems and facilities.
- Support the development and undertaking of the ORAT program.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and minimum of 10 years of relevant airport baggage handling systems engineering experience.
- Professional accreditation with an appropriate internationally recognized body.

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge and experience with the design, construction, testing and operation of airport Baggage Handling Systems.
- Strong understanding of current and emerging innovations in airport Baggage Handling System technologies.
- Understanding and experience in the specification, selection, current technologies and regulations relating to hold baggage screening systems.
- Familiarity with applicable national and international design codes.
- Familiarity with sustainability design requirements and third party sustainability accreditation requirements such as LEED and PEER.
- Understanding of airline industry and international regulatory codes, standards and design criteria relating to airport design.
