Construction Engineer

**Job Title : Construction Engineer**

**Main Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with project manager, engineers, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives and requirements.
- Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to review construction drawings, specifications, and permits, resolving discrepancies and ensuring compliance with project standards.
- Select, evaluate, and manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors involved in construction activities, ensuring they meet project requirements, safety standards, and performance expectations.
- Negotiate contracts, scope of work, and pricing agreements with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, and administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide on-site supervision and oversight of construction activities, monitoring progress, quality, and safety compliance to ensure work is completed according to specifications, plans, and schedules.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and safety assessments, identifying and addressing issues, non-conformities, and corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor construction budgets, expenditures, and cost forecasts, identifying variances, cost-saving opportunities, and risks to project financial performance.
- Implement cost control measures, value engineering initiatives, and change management processes to optimize project costs and maximize value for the client.
- Prepare and present construction status reports, project milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to project management and senior leadership.
- Identify potential construction risks, challenges, and conflicts, and develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and dispute resolution mechanisms to minimize project impacts.
- Resolve construction-related issues, conflicts, and disputes in a timely and effective manner, maintaining positive relationships with all parties involved.

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, materials, and equipment used in water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment plants, and pumping stations.
- Demonstrated experience in contractor management, subcontractor coordination, and construction contract administration, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in construction management software, project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for project planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple construction activities simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in all aspects of construction project management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and conditions, and to make informed decisions under pressure to ensure project success.

Willingness to travel to project sites, attend meetings, and work flexible hours as needed to support construction activities and meet project deadlines.
