**Basic Function**:
Financial accounting, closing and financial reporting, internal controls, fixed assets, policies and procedures.

**Scope**:
To support Financial Controller on accounting and reporting activities within the Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) Finance Department. To provide expertise across financial accounting, closing and financial reporting, internal controls, fixed assets, creation of policies and procedures.

**Interact with**:

- Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
- JHAH Finance (Assistant Financial Controller, Financial Planning & Analysis Director, Revenue Cycle Management Manager, Finance team)
- Relevant internal and external stakeholders (Shareholders, The Board, Supply Chain, Legal, Medical, Information Technology, Internal Audit, Human Resources, External Audit, Regulators)
- Finance teams across other Johns Hopkins International (JHI) and Medical Joint Venture

**Principal Duties**:
**a) Financial accounting**:

- Ensure finance and accounting activities are performed in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, agreements and are fully compliant with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Saudi GAAP
- Support accounting activities to maintain the General and Subsidiary Ledgers to recognize / measure and record JHAH’s assets, liabilities, revenues, costs and expenditures
- Provide expert guidance to resolve critical finance and accounting issues with the Shareholders, affiliates and auditors

**b) Closing and financial reporting**:

- Support the General Accounting team during the monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting for JHAH
- Assist in preparation of periodical financial statements and Shareholders’ reports on JHAH's financial stability, liquidity and profitability

**c) Internal controls**:

- Maintain a strong internal control environment to achieve effectiveness and efficiency of operations, reliability of financial reporting and compliance with all applicable laws
- Perform internal review of accounting and administrative controls to ensure adequate controls are in place to prevent / detect irregularities related to recognition, measurement, recording and reporting of financial transactions
- Support external and internal audit teams during their regular reviews

**d) Fixed assets**:

- Provide support to the Fixed Assets Accounting team to ensure proper recording, depreciation and processing of fixed assets
- Help to ensure that the Fixed Assets SAP module is updated on a regular basis
- Support the Fixed Assets Accounting team on any technical accounting matters related to fixed assets

**e)** Policies and procedures**:

- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of JHAH’s financial policies and procedures based on best practices applicable to the healthcare industry

**f) Other responsibilities**:

- Provide expertise on specific accounting, systems and process-related matters to all teams within the Accounting & Financial Reporting division
- Develop accounting memos on specific topics of interest and disseminate these to the target audience
- Develop and support the execution of specialty projects to drive process improvements and efficiencies within the Accounting & Financial Reporting division
- Maintain up-to-date detailed expertise of IFRS, Saudi GAAP and other relevant accounting topics and provide expert opinion on the same
- Act as key point of contact on interpretation of documents including the joint-venture Agreement (JVA), service agreements and other documents

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Master’s Degree preferred

**Experience**:
Minimum 10 years of varied experience in a corporate environment

**Certifications/Other requirements as applicable**:

- CPA, CA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent certification
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
