Energy Transition Lead

About the Role
Mott MacDonald is looking to continue to build its Clean Growth and Energy Transformation team with Green Hydrogen (H2) and Ammonia Technical Specialist to support the delivery of projects in this domain. This role would be based either in Saudi Arabia or India.
As an Energy Transition Lead, you will be required to act as the Project Principal on relevant projects, while driving the technical delivery with the wider team based locally and globally.

The role is expected to include a significant level of project services including studies, project and programme management, concept design, FEED, detailed engineering design, and asset management. The remit will include cross-sector projects as well as those solely within the energy sector, noting that Hydrogen and CCUS offer a clear route to achieving net-zero infrastructure goals.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

- Facilitate seamless and effective project delivery across relevant technical teams; (e.g., ammonia specialists, renewable energy specialists, RO-desal experts, etc);
- Lead technical delivery of regional hydrogen/ammonia;
- Lead specific ventures or outcomes from the H2 investment, where scale or importance necessitates. In certain instances, this may also include acting as the Project Principal on key projects of significant importance
- Work as a team with other members of the H2 global hub, such that the global hub meets its operational and performance targets.
- Work with Regional Hydrogen and Clean Growth Lead, supporting in market trend assessment, content, and strategy development for Client and cross-sector engagement.
- Degree qualified with an engineering or project management background in energy
- Specialist in hydrogen/ammonia production. Storage and transmission systems/infrastructure and actively contributing to the hydrogen community through involvement in working groups, links with research bodies, and technology providers across the value chain.
- Demonstratable experience developing hydrogen/ammonia systems and technologies including electrolysis-based production systems, fuel cell power production, and advanced hydrogen conversion systems.
- Research and development background in the development of hydrogen-based technologies/systems/solutions (MSc level) an advantage.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory and safety requirements associated with hydrogen gas installations, Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), etc
