Supervise the activities of Raw material (Billets) handling and charging to the Mills and maintain all related documents in the system and manual as well.
- Whenever foreign shipment arrives, take physical count of complete shipment and provide details from Weighbridge reports to SI to prepare the GRN.
- Supervise and ensure smooth billet shifting activity to the plant from ASCO, NASCO, between storage location and Yards according to the requirement and instruction from SI and in close coordination with production personnel.
- Ensure that the billets are charged to the respective mills according to the rolling program requirement issue the same against authorized Issue Slip and maintain both physical and system records promptly.
- Always have a close monitoring on storage and preservation. Guide Foreman to maintain the billets in grade, size and length wise.
- Guide Foreman to ensure that the proper arrangements are made for unloading the incoming goods at proper locations with length, size and grade wise avoiding mix up of billets.
- Guide Foreman to follow billet cutting instructions while billet cutting activity takes place. Make surprise checking to ensure that all the jobs carried out according to the requirement and see that all safety measure are taken care while performing the job.
- Ensure the entire billet yard housekeeping is well maintained.
- Arrange proper manning schedule of section workmen to ensure smooth operation of activities without hampering and without much of overtime.
- All Weighbridges operations to be supervised and ensure it functions uninterrupted, and trouble shoot for any issues raises at the WB in coordination with SI/Manager.
- Ensure the scrap yard all scraps are stored properly and arrange scrap disposal in timely manner as per instruction of Superiors.
- In absence of SI-Billet Handling, carryout all relevant jobs deputing SI, in order to ensure smooth functioning of section activities. Issue the billet in system on daily basis by obtaining authorized issue vouchers. Maintain the billet transfer activity in system as well manual.
- In absence of SI Daily Billet receipt reports from various suppliers (NASCO, ASCO & Others) prepare and circulate to all concern people.
- Assist SI in his day to day priority activities viz. preparation of daily production reports, billet consumption / issue reports and billet receipt information and manning scheduling.
- To understand and follow the organizational HS&E policies.
- To follow safety instructions related to their jobs.
- To report damaged PPE unsafe machines or equipment to concerned staff.
- To keep the provided PPEs in good, workable conditions.
- To avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipment and welfare facilities.
- To report any accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to concerned responsible.
- To attend safety training planned for them.
