**GENERAL MANAGER FOR ENGINEERING COMPANY**

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Reporting to: Managing Director.
- Experience: 20 yrs.**Objective of this role**:
Looking for a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets, and operations of the company.
- General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, he should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise. Ultimately, helping our company to grow and thrive:

- Develop strategic plan for optimized productivity
- Review and improve organizational effectiveness, establishing a highly motivational work environment, and implementing innovative changes
- Adhere to company standards for excellence and quality
- Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
- Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee day-to-day operations, assign weekly performance goals, ensure their completion, and accomplish his own goals
- Design strategy and set goals for growth
- Maintain/control budgets and optimize expenses
- Set policies and processes
- Supervising division managers
- Delegate responsibilities to the best-qualified employees and enforce all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values.
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees, and train high performing employees to achieve objectives
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
- Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished effectively
- Direct the employee assessment process
- Prepare regular reports for upper management
- Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
- Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)**Requirements and skills**:

- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
- Strong decision-making ability
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
- Strong analytical ability
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable
- Strong knowledge of operational procedures
- Problem-solving aptitude
- BSc/BA engineering management, technical management, or business administration; MSc/MA is a plus
