Vice President of Engineering [SaaS & AI]

Role Overview

This is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving innovation, operational excellence, and delivery of scalable performance across Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and Product Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a forward-looking engineering strategy aligned with product roadmap, GTM initiatives, and revenue goals.
  • Lead globally distributed engineering teams across cloud, platform, and product domains to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Oversee architecture, development, and deployment of secure, reliable, and high-performance SaaS products.
  • Champion modern engineering practices, including DevOps, AI-native development, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Establish systems for performance measurement, delivery forecasting, and metric tracking.
  • Build and nurture a world-class engineering culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Customer Success, and Commercial teams to align technology initiatives with business outcomes.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for large-scale cloud, platform, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Advise executive leadership and the board on technology strategy, balancing innovation with business impact.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM discipline from a leading academic institution
  • 15 + years of Software Engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior or executive leadership roles.
  • Proven success scaling large, distributed engineering organisations (within high-growth SaaS companies.
  • Expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, DevOps, and platform engineering.
  • Track record of delivering complex, high-impact SaaS products to enterprise customers.
  • Strong operational acumen with experience implementing performance and delivery metrics.
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence C-level and board stakeholders.
  • Experienced in leading transformation initiatives across technology, process, and culture.
