Summary

The Teaching Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting classroom teachers with the implementation of the curriculum.

  • Job Duties
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
  • Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearlydefined and documented curriculum for students
  • Maintain a safe learning environment for students at all times
  • Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class
  • Supervise students during lunch and other break times
  • Assist with transitions during and between classes
  • Organize classrooms, work centers, and activity areas
  • Maintain instructional supplies, materials and equipment
  • Demonstrate creativity
  • Embody, uphold, and promote the

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field of study

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a classroom
