WSP is seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Engineer to lead and manage environmental engineering projects, ensuring compliance with local and international environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years of work experience with international companies. This position requires a Saudi national to support our projects in Jeddah.

Your new role, what's involved?
  • Lead environmental assessments, ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabian environmental regulations, as well as international environmental standards.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee environmental management systems (EMS) for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical expertise on environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance requirements throughout project phases.

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA):

  • Conduct and manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for various projects, identifying potential environmental impacts and recommending mitigation measures.
  • Ensure that EIAs meet all local and international requirements and are submitted in a timely and efficient manner.

Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Promote and integrate sustainable practices into project planning, design, and execution.
  • Advise on best practices for waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainable construction practices.

Technical Leadership & Mentoring:

  • Provide technical leadership to the environmental engineering team, ensuring high-quality environmental solutions.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Coordinate with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and clients to ensure environmental compliance and address any concerns.
  • Represent WSP in meetings, public consultations, and discussions regarding environmental impact and sustainability.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare and review environmental reports, assessments, and studies for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to environmental policies, assessments, and regulatory compliance.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental engineering, with expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • At least 5 years of work experience with international companies, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
  • Proven experience in environmental impact assessments, environmental management systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian environmental regulations and international environmental standards.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability practices, waste management, and resource conservation.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
