Manager, Patient Safety

Develops the Patient Safety Plan in line with the hospital’s mission, vision, provision of service and strategic objectives, Coordinates the plan with the Patient Safety team and counterparts in KFSH&RC branches, and leads its execution. Assume responsibility of leading, organizing and executing all patient safety related activities.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Participates in thedevelopment and revision of Quality Management (QM) Department Policies andprocedures to ensure standardization among KFSH&RC sites, serve as ahealthcare quality expert, and change agent in accreditation, safety, risk andPI. Promote a culture of continues improvement that leads to sustained resultsand optimal performance.
- Assess the Safety Culture ofthe organization and initiate related multidisciplinary team to develop actionplan for improvement. Facilitate and Execute improvement initiative as needed.
- Prepares and present periodicreports on adverse events and identified trended issues as requested withdetailed analysis.
- Identify sources of valid andreliable information and metrics to monitor performance trends. Analyze andintegrates information from different sources and provide recommendations toenhance actions and decision-making.
- Demonstrates expertise in theuse of analytical and statistical tools and techniques to provide in depth viewand recommendations.
- Promotes hospital wideawareness of patient safety concepts and encourages participation and leaderinvolvement.
- Utilizes Quality improvementmethodologies to evaluate, measure capabilities and redesign operations toachieve the desired outcomes and Track, monitor and communicate progress to allstakeholders. Additionally, implement accountability structures and controls requiredto deploy, monitor and ensure compliance with the work changes.
- Participates in committees andtaskforces as assigned.
- Follows all Hospital’s relatedPolicies and Procedures.
- Participates in self andothers' education, training and development, as applicable.
- Performs other related dutiesas assigned.
**Education**:
Master’sor Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Quality, Healthcare related discipline, orother related discipline is required.
**Experience Required**:
**Grade 11**:
Six (6) years of related experience with Master’s, or eight (8) yearswith Bachelor’s Degree, including three (3) years’ experience in quality isrequired.
**Grade 12**:
Eight (8) years ofrelated experience with Master’s, or ten (10) years with Bachelor’s Degree,including four (4) years’ (Grade 11) related experience is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
- Certified Professional Healthcare Qualityis preferred.
- Certified Professional in Patient SafetyCPPS is preferred.
- Certified professional in Healthcare RiskManagement CPHRM is preferred.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma and/orother PI methodologies are preferred.
- PMP is preferred.
