Geotechnical Lab Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Management: Supervise and manage the daily operations of the geotechnical laboratory, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.- Quality Control: Ensure all testing procedures comply with ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant standards. Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality management systems (QMS).- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and procurement of laboratory equipment. Ensure all equipment is in good working order and meets safety standards.- Staff Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of laboratory technicians and support staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training as needed.- Testing and Analysis: Perform and supervise a variety of geotechnical tests, including soil classification, grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, permeability, and compression strength testing.- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on test results and findings. Ensure accurate data entry and documentation.- Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical support and consultation as needed.- Health and Safety: Promote a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and conducting regular safety audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a geotechnical laboratory setting.- Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant testing standards.- Proven experience in laboratory management and staff supervision.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.-
