Banquet & Event Manager

**Role Purpose**:
- Ensures that the full catering and events operation operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining its scope and standards set out by the Client, as per standards and brand reputation.
- Ensures the full variety of activities in relation to catering events, service, menu delivery, staffing, planning, health and safety, food safety and customer satisfaction are completed as assigned to service teams, while taking responsibility for daily business performance and profitability.
- Assists to ensure that the Food and Beverage activities are aligned with the respective company Strategy, standards and that that all Actions have been implemented where appropriate.
**Key Accountabilities & Activities**:
- Strong knowledge of catering, events and large volume foodservices operation and its sequence of activities
- Practice good customer relations and event organizer skills and ensure the teams portray positive customer service during all catering events.
- Strong mindset for immediate changes, adopt and activate initiatives immediately by displaying flexibility.
- Works with a backup plan in case of emergencies or last-minute operational changes. - Excellent time management skills and able work to strict deadlines, while showing proactive planning
- Ensures all team members are well trained and equipped to execute tasks accurately. - Plans events and catering activities well ahead of time, do a full check and conduct detailed briefing in a timely manner for all events.
- Ensures SOPs are developed with standard sequence of service, set up with detailed pictures and all set ups for events are consistent and delivered in top quality.
- Conducts site inspection with clients and event organizers when required.
- Strong understanding of various event styles, set ups, buffet standards, menus options, and levels of service.
- Highly customer oriented and ability to work professionally and diplomatically with individuals at all levels (including internal and external customers).
- Demonstrates maturity and excellence in communication, ability to build effective teams, effective interpersonal communication, and the ability to initiate and model positive change.
- Proficient computer skills, preparation and management of daily reports related to events and catering.
- Demonstrates integrity, dependability, sound judgment, teambuilding, and resourcefulness to establish and maintain collaborative, positive, and effective working relationships with diverse customers.
- Exceptional attention to details and accuracy on documentation, reporting, data, and administrative tasks.
- High ethics, trust, transparent, accountable, self-starter, and proactive approach - Attention to detail but also the ability to see the implications of the bigger picture and overall business perspective.
- Organization, effective time management, prioritizing and the ability to manage a complex, varied workload in multi-site operations simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines and manage events and tasks effectively.
- Ensures that all resident and client complaints are resolved by assigned teams.
- Ensures that all aspects of digital tech system activities are performed as assigned by the teams (online menu management, allergen management and digital buffet tags, catering booking system and similar).
- Ensures teams perform all duties assigned to high standards practiced, food and beverage quality as per specification, buffet set up and implement improvement plans as required.
- Keeps a good rapport with the service and culinary teams, attend and conduct training as per training needs.
- Conducts daily and monthly operational meetings with culinary teams, highlight challenges, guest feedback, and set up improvement plans.
- Aligns with Food & Beverage manager for objectives set by the client.
- Conducts performance reviews with all team members and prepare PIP (performance improvement plan).
- Organizes rewards programs and motivates team members.
- Ensures teams maintain high level of cleanliness and hygiene in all operational areas (full guest journey).
- Ensures all inventory is conducted and all equipment’s in good condition prior to use for events report any defects without a business interruption.
- Forecasts event activities, menus, staffing requirements and plan ahead.
- Hands-on during the operation, check and always on the floor to assist the team members.
- Conducts internal audits and inspections - can be digitally and as requested by the Client.
- Practices and promotes sustainability initiatives in operation.
- Reviews efficiencies and improvements and makes adjustments in operation when possible.
- Safeguards diner guidelines set out by the client.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
