General Manager Sales and Distribution

**Job Description**:
Our client: A well-known organization in the consumer goods industry.
The Role: Coming from a strong direct distribution model and having led large teams, you would bring a wealth of experience in setting up the strategic direction for the organization to maintain competitive advantage. Strategic Planning: Taking from concept to implement strategies for developing and expanding market share Work cross-functionally to address issues and arrive at cohesive solutions. Distribution Management: Optimize, review and ramp up the current operations to drive weighted & numeric distribution. Business Development: Identify growth opportunities; align teams to deliver. Ability to look at the larger picture when formulating plans for the future. Go to Market: keeps abreast of economic developments, market trends, and consumer research and utilizes the effective go-to-market systems and best practice tools encompassing organized trade (OT) and direct store delivery (DSD) to achieve the optimum sales volume and nets. Identify commercial opportunities, developments and business needs and align proposals for recommendations to the Board. Provide strategic and operational leadership to achieve business growth. You would have a team of cross-functional reports and business support function heads, including supply chain, fleet, finance, information technology, and human resources and contribute to operational problem solving when necessary to ensure that the business strategy is on track. Own the P&L and top and bottom line growth.
Must-Haves: A minimum of eighteen+ years of progressive experience in a senior management position (prior SMD, Sales Director, Commercial Director, GM of a medium-sized company)
Track record of running successfully large sales and distribution operations.
Multinational experience at a senior level for at least five years.
An entrepreneurial flair and passion for achieving sustainable growth
Superior presentation and influencing skills. Should have presented to the Board in earlier assignments. Willingness to both lead at a high level and be hands-on as needed
Current or prior experience in Saudi Arabia. Fluency in Arabic and English.
Contagious enthusiasm and ambition - obsessed with his vision and the ability to pass on his beliefs and his optimism (can-do attitude) to employees.
Ability to delegate responsibility and supervise execution effectively (empowerment).
Successful track record in managing a profit centre of significant size.
