**OVERALL JOB PURPOSE**:
The Manager, Advanced Stage Studies, is responsible for delivering Prefeasibility Studies within the SPD department and for providing both commercial and technical solutions for project options. His focus will be on and include the project and study management work required to deliver Prefeasibility mining studies and he will be required to work with external and internal stakeholders (Operations, Technical services ,MRM, EHSS, Asset Integrity, Project Delivery & Engineering (PDE), Corporate Service Providers, Exploration, Consultants and other Industry Service providers, Governmental Agencies and multi-disciplinary teams) in delivering professional work and assisting in handing over, providing BU oversight and monitoring the ongoing progress of studies that are feasible to PDE or other agencies within Ma’aden tasked with executing projects.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
The general duties of the Manager, Advanced Stage Studies include:

- Assist the SPD Director in managing the department, including budgets, resources, corporate reporting, EHSS, Risk and stakeholder management.
- Provide technical input for and produce mining engineering studies from Scoping/Conceptual through to Feasibility Studies working within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Responsible for resourcing and managing a competent study team, developing project scope, schedule and budget, study contract administration, and managing, supervising and coordinating the work of both internal resources and external consultants and other service providers in collaboration with SPD management, Ma’aden Exploration, BM&NM Operations ,MRM and Technical Services, EHSS and Corporate Shared Services
- Ensure that the work that he and his study team are executing is in accordance with International Standards, Government policy, permitting and legal requirements, Ma’aden Stage Gate and EHSS requirements and standards, and compliant with Corporate Sustainability and Quality Assurance goals and processes.
- Provide technical solutions and guidance during studies covering geology, mining engineering, metallurgical test work, process, infrastructure and services and general engineering.
- To deliver, with his study teams, a high standard of professional work that reflects Ma’aden’s unique requirements and grows the business’ reputation.
- Assume when required the role of Project/Study Manager to deliver studies that meet stakeholder expectations and are on time and within budget.
- Generate professional, accurate and concise technical reports and written communications.
- Training, mentoring and coaching of staff and contract employees to support career development goals and meet the department goals and KPIs.
- Communicate effectively with corporate, operating and technical groups and liaise with outside agencies to meet the department’s overall objectives.
- Be accountable for the risk management of the studies under his management.
- Be accountable for the appropriate permitting, licensing and liaison with authorities.
- Be accountable for the Quality Control and Assurance of his assigned work, and participate in, facilitate, and conduct, as required, reviews and workshops to ensure compliance with corporate and industry standards and expectations. This includes guiding the studies under his management through IPR and subsequent presentation of the projects to Management.

**COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**:
Sustained communication, interaction, engagement and reporting with all subordinates, peers, management and other stakeholders within the department, BM&NM BU and Ma’aden.

Similarly will be required to interact and communicate periodically with consultants, contractors, and service providers regarding the compliance, quality management and assurance of the projects and studies, and represent the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.

Display the ability to work in and lead multi-disciplinary teams with both external and internal resources.

**Job relevant information (BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY)**:
Develops Study and Project specific execution plans, work procedures and methodologies to ensure optimal personal and team performance in accordance with established practices, corporate and industry requirements and professional standards.

Displays the ability to work independently and responsibly with diligence and minimum oversight within the bounds of the approved corporate and departmental authority matrix.

Is able to travel and spend time away from the departmental office, typically on mine sites or in third party offices.

Perform all regular or ad hoc duties as per the assigned project charter, or as directed by management.
