**Job Purpose
In keeping with the mission of the QI & PS Department and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and providing leadership support for Quality Improvement, Patient Safety and Risk Management Program. Interfaces with a diverse range of clinical and administrative professionals to resolve complex care delivery systems through initiating and delivering sustainable process improvements designed to exceed patients’ expectations while using KAAUH strategies to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization. Ensures that the quality of healthcare services rendered meets or exceeds recognized national and international standards such as JCI, CBAHI, MOH and others.

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Manages Quality Improvement strategic planning for the QI&PS Department and other KAAUH Departments.
- Provides guidance on QI&PS projects directly or indirectly through cooperation with QI&PS department Managers, Departmental quality facilitators and coordinators.
- Follow-up the steps of QI&PS programs, plans /projects implementation and progress results, and disseminate information about improvement with concerned departments.
- Facilitates the implementation of the change to improve work processes according to QI&PS programs, plans/projects results.
- Facilitates QI&PS programs/projects in KAAUH to improve quality of services, and maintain patient safety at all times.
- Provides technical and consulting support to all QI&PS programs, plans/projects in all KAAUH departments.
- Benchmarks performance indicators against a set of local/international standards to improve quality.
- Arranges, monitors and documents logs of regular training on Evidence Base Health Care (EBHC) tools for all medical and paramedical staffs
- Develops and implements Key Performance Indicators, and provides in-depth analysis of data and information needed to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Develops PPG’s on staff development in consultation with the QI &PS Director.
- Monitors and ensures effective implementation of Staff Development Programs in the KAAUH Departments
- Monitors performance indicators continuously to improve quality.
- Manages, implements and maintains the change to improve work processes according to QI&PS programs/projects results
- Ensures familiarity and compliance with all KAAUH policies and processes.
- Protects and models the KAAUH values.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment which supports team performance.
- Respects patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
- Participates in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Performs other job related duties, as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Experience

Minimum or Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Administration or Healthcare profession (i.e. Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Hospital Administration) in which 2 years minimum experience should be in a 300+ bed capacity hospital in Quality Improvement. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent. with 9 years of experience.

Preferred:

- Master’s degree in Administration or Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety or relevant science.. with 7 years of experience.
- PhD in Administration or Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety or relevant science.. with 2 years of experience.
