Senior Manager Data Engineering

Publicis Sapient is seeking a seasoned data leader to spearhead our Data Engineering capability. This role will involve leading enterprise-scale data engineering transformation programs for our global clients, as well as contributing to the growth and development of our data practice into a world-class capability.

Your Impact
  1. Design and implement cutting-edge data solutions for clients in KSA, leveraging expertise in Big Data, Cloud, and streaming technologies.
  2. Drive Publicis Sapient's transformation in data engineering, promoting a superior engineering approach and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  3. Collaborate with AI, machine learning, and analytics teams to develop innovative solutions that unlock client data value.
  4. Apply tried and tested consulting skills to drive business outcomes and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Develop and lead data practice initiatives through thought leadership, accelerator building, and talent grooming.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technologist with expertise in Big Data, Cloud, and streaming technologies, providing strategic and tactical direction to teams and guiding clients in their digital transformation journeys. Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python, along with experience in Spark and related computing frameworks, are essential. Additionally, the individual should have a strong understanding of build vs. buy, performance considerations, hosting, business intelligence, and reporting & analytics.

Requirements

Your skills and experience:

  1. Extensive experience in Data technologies across streaming and batch-oriented realms, with expertise in cloud-related data services (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  2. End-to-end data architecture skills, including Analytics, ML, and Activation tools, in overall Data-driven Digital Business Transformation (DBT).
  3. Proven track record of leading technical architecture, design, and delivery of Big Data and Cloud Data solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) for multiple projects.
  4. Expertise in distributed data processing frameworks like Spark, Storm, Flink, and programming languages like Java, Scala, and/or Python.
  5. Experience with NoSQL databases (Cassandra/HBase/MongoDB/ElasticSearch/Neo4j) and scalable analytical data stores like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Teradata.
  6. Knowledge of scalable data models that address various consumption patterns, including random-access and sequential access, with necessary optimizations like bucketing, aggregating, and sharding.
  7. Experience with performance tuning, optimization, and scaling solutions from a storage/processing standpoint.
  8. Experience with setting up data engineering practices across architecture, design, coding, and quality assurance, and deployment through industry-standard DevOps practices for CI/CD and leveraging tools like Jenkins/Bamboo, Maven, Junit, SonarQube, Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerization.
  9. Solid understanding of Data Governance, Data Security, Data Cataloguing, and Data Lineage concepts, with experience in tools like Collibra.
  10. Proven ability to lead data audits/assessments, define data strategy, and provide consulting skills to clients.
  11. Experience leading proposals (RFPs) from solution, architecture, estimation, and framework standpoints.
  12. Thought leadership in Data Engineering, including writing blogs, creating PoVs, and possessing knowledge of industry trends, attending/presenting in internal/external technical forums, and mentorship.
  13. Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  14. Experience leading/participating in Data CoE initiatives, such as building accelerators, driving mindshare through blogs, point of views, industry participation, coaching/mentoring team members, and continuous learning.
