Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of aviation life support equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Training and Instruction: Develop and conduct training programs for aircrew on the use and care of life support equipment.
  • Supply and Logistics: Manage the receipt, handling, and storage of life support equipment.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and reports on equipment maintenance, training, and other related activities.
  • On-the-Job Training: Conduct on-the-job training for RSLFAC ALSE personnel assigned to the section.
  • Aircrew Training: Conduct aircrew training on simulated egress, forced landings, and ditching, as well as instruct aircrews in chemical protection and decontamination procedures.
  • Safety and Maintenance: Assist in shop safety and maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance of the associated work area.
  • Night Vision Device Maintenance: Maintain, conduct tests, and repair Night Vision Devices, ensuring appropriate NVD records are maintained.
Requirements
  • Education: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Experience: Must have at least four (4) years of current experience in the aviation life support field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Must be a graduate of the US or foreign military ALSE technician course, and have knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) and applicable Army publications.
  • Communication Skills: Must have demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, and be fluent in the English language.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift/push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
