Restaurant Operations Manager Job Description

The Restaurant Operations Manager oversees daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, maintaining quality standards, handling inventory and budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

This position works closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to optimize workflow, improve customer satisfaction, and drive revenue growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain optimal sanitary procedures for food handling, a clean kitchen area, and high-quality food preparation, adhering to all standards.
  • Administer performance of service staff, schedule and evaluate restaurant operations, provide training to employees, maintain work according to required policies and procedures, and stay updated on food and beverage trends.
  • Prepare estimates of food and beverage costs, coordinate with corporate staff, assist in purchasing supplies, place orders with distributors, and respond to customer complaints.
  • Ensure security procedures compliance and design strategies to protect employees and customers, reduce staff injuries, and prepare accident reports.
  • Manage shifts, schedule processes, maintain cleanliness, assist in resolving complaints, ensure food quality, and conduct regular employee interviews.
  • Perform orientation and training for new employees on restaurant processes, gather feedback from employees, and maintain restaurant plans.
  • Oversee the entire restaurant operation.
  • Prioritize guest satisfaction and deliver superior services.
  • Plan and develop guest loyalty programs.
  • Update existing menus and plan new ones.
  • Develop the overall restaurant marketing strategy.
  • Participate in local food events.
  • Respond efficiently to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Organize and supervise shifts, manage and lead staff, hire new employees, train and evaluate their performance, estimate consumption, forecast requirements, and maintain inventory.
  • Control costs, minimize waste, and foster a positive working environment.
  • Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions.
  • Implement innovative strategies to enhance productivity and sales.
  • Train employees on proper customer service practices.
