GIS Installation Specialist

As a GIS Installation Technician at Hitachi ABB Power Grids, you will be part of a dynamic team based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful installation, repair, and maintenance of switching systems, eliminating any faults that may arise. You will be the technical representative of Hitachi ABB Power Grids, supporting the installation of high-voltage systems worldwide for Power Grids High Voltage (PGHV).
Your Key Responsibilities- Installation Support: You will provide technical support to ensure that installation work is carried out in perfect order, adhering to technical specifications and guidelines.
- Independent Work: You will be responsible for carrying out installation and maintenance work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Compliance and Safety: You will ensure compliance with installation requirements, instructions, and safety protocols, including guidelines for working on live system components.
- Documentation and Communication: You will be responsible for red-marking drawings or documents with any changes or modifications made during installation, and will advise sub-suppliers' installation superintendents on planning and coordination of workforces.
- Status Updates: You will cooperate with the PG Project Manager to establish the status of completed and non-completed work.
- Material Inspection and Coordination: You will inspect arriving materials for completeness and damage, and coordinate material handling with sub-suppliers' Material Control.
- Non-Conformance Reports: You will issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG's scope of supply, in cooperation with the PG Project Manager.
- Installation Tests and Documentation: You will supervise final installation tests and PG installation completion documentation.
- Loop Check Activities: You will supervise and coordinate loop check activities, and participate in site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
- Task Execution: You will be responsible for the competent execution of your tasks, and will carry out any additional tasks assigned by management to fulfill job requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant Education: A diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Experience: 0-3 years of experience with GIS, preferably with SF6 gas-handling experience.
- Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of PGHV-CH GIS products is preferred.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
