About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Tourism Analytics to join our team at the Saudi Tourism Authority. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and informing strategic decisions through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Strategic Plans

Contribute to the design and implementation of our department's strategy and roadmap by providing function-specific inputs. Establish and implement operational plans in support of our overall strategic plan and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Manage Research and Insights

Prepare the Research, Insights & Analytics Section annual budget and participate in our department's budgeting cycle and process. Utilize and manage our research and insights budget effectively, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.

Drive Business Growth

Investigate and propose implementing strategies that result in positive financial impact for the Saudi Tourism Authority and mitigate financial and operational risks. Prepare research, data, and analytics plans to address business priorities and knowledge gaps, collaborating with our Tourism Data and Insights Department to align on methodology, budget, scope, and delivery of research requirements.

Collect and Analyze Data

Identify key primary, secondary, and tertiary data sources to collect required data and information for the purpose of analysis and collecting data for the Asia-Pacific region. Check internally and externally with contracted vendors to assess if required data has already been compiled and/or analyzed and leverage it to minimize rework in the Asia-Pacific region.

Develop and Publish Reports

Collect/extract and clean data as per research requirements for the Asia-Pacific region, and work with data science and engineering to ensure it is structured appropriately for use. Recommend improvements to and utilize statistical/machine learning/AI data analytics models and generate insights in the Asia-Pacific region. Collate research output and develop reports as per agreed formats.

Collaborate with Stakeholders

Prepare and publish periodic and ad-hoc business analytics and insights reports on various topics that are of relevance to the Saudi Tourism Authority and to the Asia-Pacific region. Collect stakeholder feedback on submitted reports and leverage it to enhance future delivery for the Asia-Pacific region.

Conduct Game-Changing Analysis

Conduct game-changing analysis for differentiated insight and better, faster decisions to drive sustainable growth and achievement of strategic objectives. Establish cross-regional work programs, streams, and projects to collect the relevant data timeously (real-time if possible) and provide operational insights for optimization.

Implement Data Quality Program

Regularly assess the impact of barriers and the mitigation strategies with a clear indication of what is working optimally & suggestions for those that are not, based on data. Implement a program incorporating STA research and outside sources – analysis of data quality, ensuring that it is clean, reliable, and stored in the data warehouse.

Oversee Research Vendor Partnerships

Oversee the development and implementation of a program of proactive research, audience insights, and market analysis to support strategic and service developments, ensuring alignment with STA priorities. Collaborate with syndicated providers to develop effective and efficient delivery of data and services to local teams.

Engage with Regional Staff

Engage with HQ regional staff to provide an advisory role to the region and KSA. Maximize research vendor partner relationships to ensure innovatively, best practice approaches are consistently applied, and services are delivered at the highest level.

Develop Communication Plan

Develop a communication plan for key stakeholders with precise frequencies, content, and a feedback mechanism. Monitor and report on sales and distribution of various products in the respective markets.

Improve Policies and Procedures

Propose improvements to the Research, Insights & Analytics Section's policies and ensure the implementation of procedures and controls across all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high-quality and cost-effective results.

Manage Direct Reports

Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures. Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes taking into account leading practices, changes in the business environment, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.

Recruit Key Talent

Manage, guide, and assist direct reports to perform their functional operations in accordance with set policies and procedures. Participate in identifying and recruiting key talent for Research, Insights & Analytics Section.

Promote High-Performance Environment

Promote a high-performance working environment embracing STA's values. Build and maintain solid relations with external stakeholders such as governmental entities and consultants to serve STA's best interest.

Provide Assistance

Provide assistance across the organization and supporting peers when needed to perform their duties. Approve reports and presentations related to Research, Insights & Analytics Section activities and achievements for reporting and decision-making.

Perform Other Activities

Perform other activities as and when required.

Requirements
  1. Experience

Not less than 8 years of experience in research and insights or other relevant field.

Education

A bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Analytics or equivalent is preferred.
