Senior Data Center Operations Manager

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Center Operations Manager to lead our data center operations organization in Eastern Oregon. As a key member of our Infrastructure Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of critical facilities in multiple sites within a region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of several functions to ensure the operational availability of network and server systems at scale.
- Attain organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.
- Supervise and manage a team of data center operations technicians and data center managers.
- Develop and implement strategic operations models to fit into future capacity growth.
- Focus on team learning and development, including mentoring and training.
- Write and deliver annual performance reviews to staff.
- Develop and share operational best practices across the globe.
- Plan and execute the Infrastructure Operations component of AWS data center build-outs, colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions.
- Experience in successful insourcing and/or outsourcing specific task balancing internal skillsets with frugality.
- Manage safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
- Continuously improve operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience managing technical operations or engineering teams.
- 8+ years of experience operating as a manager of managers.
- 10+ years of experience working with operations in computer technologies and/or critical facilities.
- 12+ years of management experience in an operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Solid track record in building high-performance culture.
- 5+ years of experience in safety, security, or availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
- Proven achievements in continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
- 5+ years of experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with mission-critical infrastructure.
- Expertise in one or more continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
- PMP/PMI certification.
