Data Center Engineering Operations Cluster Manager, DCC Communities

The Regional Data Centre Engineering Manager will be responsible for data center engineering operations across three Amazon Data Center availability zones, managing a team of facilities managers and engineers responsible for the 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of DCEO engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and the achievement of performance benchmarks.
- Establish performance metrics, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Oversee the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Manage relationships with third-party providers and their facility staff, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication.
- Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, and more.
- Develop and implement data center capacity planning and reporting strategies to optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Deliver quality service, ensuring all customer demands are met and exceeded.
- Procure DCEO-related expenditures, ensuring effective budget management and resource allocation.
- Manage assets and inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance of critical equipment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Relevant work experience in Data Center or another mission-critical environment, with a deep understanding of mission-critical systems.
- Experience in people management, including managing people managers.
- In-depth knowledge of critical facility equipment, including generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS and DRUPS, electrical sub-distribution systems, fire detection and suppression systems, and cable reticulation systems.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and collaborating with third-party providers.
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
