About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technical Support Engineer to join our Oilfield Equipment Team at Lufkin Gears. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of innovative surface pressure control equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Lead the design and development of surface pressure control equipment, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects and constraints are understood and considered.
  2. System Evaluation: Evaluate system and component performance, reporting results and making recommendations for improvement.
  3. Design Allocation: Define allocation to subsystems based on refinement of the design concept with SMEs in subsystems.
  4. New Solutions: Develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organization.
  5. Product Delivery: Deliver products as part of a team, working on cross-functional teams.
  6. Analytical and Design Activities: Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
  7. Procedure Development: Write and review procedures (new installation, maintenance & troubleshooting), doing calculations, drawings, tilt studies, and RCA's.
  8. Installation Procedures: Create new installation procedures.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience: At least 7+ years of design experience in surface wellhead & gate valves.
  3. Proven Experience: Proven experience in mechanical engineering for pressure control equipment.
  4. Design and Troubleshooting: Designing and troubleshooting surface wellheads & trees.
  5. Customer Requirements: Capable of proposing equipment designs that suit customer requirements for surface equipment.
  6. Global Team Experience: Experience working in projects with global teams.
  7. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving, process improvement, and analytical skills.
  8. Teamwork and Collaboration: Motivated self-starter that promotes teamwork and collaboration in a cross-functional environment.
