Application Support Specialist / Network Administrator - Odo Software

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Odoo Application Support**:

- **Configuration & Customization**: Assist in the installation, configuration, and customization of Odoo ERP modules (e.g., Sales, Inventory, Accounting, HR, CRM) to meet business requirements.
- **User Training & Documentation**: Conduct training sessions for users on Odoo functionalities and best practices. Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and FAQs.
- **Updates & Upgrades**: Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and new feature implementations in Odoo, ensuring mínimal disruption to business operations.
- **Data Management**: Ensure data integrity within Odoo by managing data migration, backups, and troubleshooting any data-related issues.

**Network Administration**:

- **Network Management**: Oversee and maintain the company’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- **Performance Monitoring**: Monitor network performance to ensure reliable and efficient connectivity, supporting Odoo’s cloud and on-premise deployments.
- **Troubleshooting & Support**: Resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, IP conflicts, and hardware failures, ensuring continuous support for Odoo users.
- **Backup & Disaster Recovery**: Manage network and Odoo server backups, ensuring that recovery plans are in place and executed in case of failure.
- **Cloud Integration**: Support the deployment and configuration of Odoo in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and ensure smooth integration with on-premises systems.

**General IT Support**:

- **First-Line Support**: Provide first-line support for end-users experiencing issues with Odoo and network systems, escalating to the development team when necessary.
- **Documentation**: Maintain up-to-date documentation of Odoo system configurations, network topology, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Educational Background**: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- **Experience**:

- **2+ years of experience supporting and administering Odoo ERP software (preferably Odoo v13 or higher).**
- Experience with network administration, including managing local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and VPN setups.
- Knowledge of Odoo modules such as Sales, Inventory, Accounting, HR, CRM, and Manufacturing.
- Technical Skills:

- **Strong understanding of Odoo architecture, server configurations, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance.**:

- Proficiency in SQL and database management (PostgreSQL for Odoo).
- Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS), as Odoo typically runs on these platforms.
- Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
- Proficiency in using monitoring and diagnostic tools for both Odoo and network infrastructure.
- Certifications:

- **Odoo certification (e.g., Odoo Certified Consultant or Odoo Developer) is a plus.**:

- Networking certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar.
- System administration or ITIL certifications are a plus.**Key Competencies**:

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in the context of ERP software and network systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to maintaining systems and networks.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full-time position with flexibility for remote work or office-based, depending on company policy.
- Occasional after-hours support required for system maintenance, updates, or troubleshooting.
- Potential for on-call support for critical system issues.
