Position Summary: Ladle Operator (Slide Gate Technician)
- Check material & tools requirement on site for shift.
- Cleaning & preparation of ladle after casting.
- Transferring ladle from ladle preparation area to LTC.

Major Responsibilities & Duties performed:

- Planning for ladles job for shift A& feedback from Sr. Operator of previous shift.
- Prepare mortar required to fix the slider & Slide gate plates.
- Clean the ladle with oxygen to remove slag/metal from inner nozzle & porous plug.
- Check the condition of porous plug & ladle bricks.
- Check the condition of slider, slider plate, bottom plate & inner nozzle.
- Change slider, slide gate plates, inner nozzle & porous plug as per requirement.
- Fire new ladle & circulated ladle as per requirement.
- Transfer the ladle from preparation area to LTC & dumping yard.
- Keep record of ladle life in ladle log sheet.
- Housekeeping in the shift.

Other Responsibilities:

- Strictly following the safe working practices and safety rules of the organization as per HS&E Policy.
- Strictly Follow the Safety Instruction related to the Jobs
- Keep issued PPE in good and workable condition.
- Do not allow any unsafe PPE usage by staff report PPE damages to concerned authority
- Avoid any horseplay and abuse of safety devices, equipments and welfare facilities.
- Should attend the safety training scheduled for them
- Have right to say” NO” to any unsafe work.
- SBT / On the Job training / Tool Box Talks to the Sub-ordinates
- STOP program awareness & implementation
- Train subordinators.
- Observe safety & wear safety personnel protective equipment
- The employee will be work in General Shift / Shift Rota as per company requirement.
- Employee can be transfer to any production unit within company as per company requirement.

Supervision:
Will be supervised by the Supervisor/FM, Ladle & Refractory, supervising Job assigned to him.

Competencies:
Should be trained to check the ladle condition, plug condition

Skilled in ladle operation slide gate/plug/inspection/capability of taking decision /safety
