Your role and responsibilitiesLeading media relations with Tier 1 and financial publications in the GCC region working with division, business area and group communicators.
Acting as a spokesperson for country Tier 1 and financial media, responding to incoming media requests and supporting key leaders with media guidance, coaching, and speaking opportunities. Localizing and distributing global press releases to Tier 1 and financial publications for all ABB divisions and business areas. Planning, supporting, preparing and managing responses to inquiries from external sources â including crisis and issue related media and social media escalations and responses.
Serving on the country crisis task force. Offering guidance regarding crises and issues in line with ABBâs operational model. Ensuring all issues and crises are handled with minimum negative impact to the organization and the ABB brand.
Responsible for internal communications duties, including mandatory employee communications and fiduciary requirements locally. Manage cascading of limited ABB Corporate content in alignment with other functions including legal and integrity, HSE, HR and security. Management and governance of country internal communication channels such as Viva Engage and the intranet.
Management and governance, including translations as needed, of country social channels and websites.
Safeguarding brand identity and ensuring regulatory compliance in all communications, both internally and externally. Ensuring balanced profile in the region. Responsible for regional protocol events.
Managing and applying rigorous control to the country communications budget, ensuring transparency and maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
Proven ability leading and motivating local as well as remote and globally dispersed teams: achieving organizational focus on key priorities, providing clear direction, delegating, actively communicating and coaching/mentoring; ability to lead and influence also from a distance in a matrix organization is key.
Handson leadership skills with a pragmatic businessfocused approach to the delivery of service and projects alike, being decisive and actionoriented, within areas of responsibility.
The ability to set clear goals and accountable in driving results.
Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations.
The ability to act in a transparent and consistent manner while always considering what is best for the organization.
- Bachelorâs Degree in Marketing or Communications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field of Marketing, Communication Management or Public Relations in a highly matrixed organization
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) and strong writing/editing skills.
- Indepth demonstrable knowledge and experience of all aspects of internal and external communications
- Extensive network within the press/media and ability to lead crisis communications autonomously.
- Strong Business partnership, collaboration and communication skills, with deep experience of managing internal and external relationships seamlessly
- Deep knowledge of the regional culture and differences and ability to advise accordingly including for protocol events.
