The L&D leader at KFUPM will develop and implement Learning and Development programs & strategies while also ensuring legal compliance, current needs, and KFUPM's vision.


  • As part of the transformation to an independent institute, the L&D Leader is responsible to bring the staffing strategy to life. This position is responsible for every stage of the learning process, from identifying training needs to evaluating the effectiveness of the training, creating career development plans for staff, and providing coaching and feedback. Develop a plan and framework for Leadership training that ensures the alignment of skills, knowledge, competencies, and capabilities to meet the current and future needs of KFUPM. This position will heavily contribute to the mission and vision of the
-
Center of Human Resource Excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities:

Learning Need Analysis:

Engage with all departments to clarify priorities for Learning and Development interventions; gather relevant data on performance; identify on required outcomes.

Assess the training and development needs of each department to drive its growth and cultural well-being by conducting the Training Needs Analysis (TNA).


Learning and Development Program Design:

Design and develop L&D programs to meet individual and organizational learning needs within specified timescales and resources; identify and incorporate appropriate L&D methodologies and delivery channels; develop relevant content and high-quality learning resources.


Learning and Development Program Delivery:
Deliver complex training programs, engaging, advising, and guiding learners and evaluating the achievement of intended learning outcomes.

HR Data Analytics and Insights:

Deliver complex analyses of HR data; identify key trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights that enable the diagnosis of staff performance issues, enhancement of employee engagement, and improvement of workforce performance.

Define KPIs to track success and also outline an organization-wide launch plan.

External Contractor Engagement:
Manage all external vendors to support the delivery of key projects and/or ad hoc services. Monitor and evaluate outcomes.

Accountability:
Accountable for the performance and effectiveness of programs. Analyze the effectiveness of the training program by using performance metrics and KPIs.

Strategic Responsibilities:

Leadership and Direction:

Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy, action plan, and the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.


Develops Talent:
Develops people to meet both their career goals and the organization's goals. Implement best practices to help people reach their development goals and achieve optimal results.

Longer Employee Retention:
Lower the attrition rate and retain talent in the university. Increase employee satisfaction to build loyalty. Reduce absenteeism, burnout, and turnover.

Improved Quality of Work and Performance: L&D Leader is responsible for increasing employee quality of work and performance in their existing roles through upskilling or reskilling their knowledge, skills, & abilities. Driving a culture of continuous professional development (CPD).

Stronger Brand Reputation:

Develop and implement a strategy to increase KFUPM's competitive edge in employment and improve the brand's reputation to attract top talent.

Collaborate with CoHRE departments to get KFUPM recognized as one of the "best places to work".

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design & Technology, Adult Education & Learning, Training & Development, Education, Educational or Organizational Psychology, and Human Resources.
  • CIPD or related certifications are highly desirable.
  • KFUPM shall administer a competency & English language assessment.

Required Experience

  • Proven Learning & Development Leader with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience.
  • Successful track record of leading diverse teams, driving organizational transformation, and building new capabilities.

Skills

  • Be a highly influential leader.
  • Successfully communicates with executives on consulting them to define and drive their Learning & Development agendas.
  • Superb verbal & written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of elearning platforms and practices.
