POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Presales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the sales process by leveraging your technical expertise to support the sales team in promoting networking, compute, storage, and data center solutions. You will engage with potential customers to understand their business needs, design tailored solutions, and articulate the value of these products and services. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, customer-facing skills, and strategic thinking.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Expertise:

  • Provide in-depth technical knowledge of advanced and emerging technologies, including Enterprise Networking, Security, Data Center Design and Consulting Services (DC), Compute and Storage (SOL), Collaboration, Cloud, and Managed Services.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Cisco DNAC, SDA, SD-WAN, Nexus, ACI, Webex, Teams, NG-FW, Stealthwatch, Threat Grid, ISE, UCS / HCI technologies.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of compute and storage solutions, including products and services from leading providers such as Dell EMC, HPE, and other NextGen infrastructure components.
  • Expertise in data center physical design components, including power distribution, cooling systems, and site selection, to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and scalability. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for data center infrastructure management (DCIM).

Solution Design:

  • Collaborate with customers to understand their business requirements and design customized solutions to meet their needs.
  • Contribute to and refine technical RFP / RFQ responses.

Demonstrations & Presentations:

  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept activities to showcase the value of networking, compute, storage, and data center solutions.

Proposal Development:

  • Develop detailed proposals, including solution architecture, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Build bill of materials, costing analysis, scope of works, and high-level project plans.

Customer Engagement:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, addressing their technical queries and concerns throughout the sales cycle.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, post-sales, and product management teams to ensure a seamless transition from presales to implementation.
  • Develop strategic relationships with our partner SE's.

Market Awareness:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in networking, compute, storage, data center technologies, and the broader IT industry.

Training & Enablement:

  • Provide training and support to the sales and product management teams to enhance their understanding of networking, compute, storage, and data center products and solutions.

Sales Target and Performance Monitoring

  • Achieve assigned sales targets related to networking, compute, storage, and data center solutions, and be responsible for meeting these targets, which will be a key metric for performance evaluation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 05 years of experience in a presales or technical consulting role with a strong focus on networking, compute, storage, and data center technologies.
  • Proficient in networking, security, collaboration, compute, storage, and data center solutions.
  • Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud-based solutions is a plus.
  • Expertise in data center physical infrastructure, including power and cooling systems, site selection, and adherence to industry standards for infrastructure management.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and support sales activities.
