Job Purpose

  • Responsible for leading the strategic direction and oversight of a company's tourism-related brands (Red Sea, Amaala,), products, and marketing initiatives.
  • This position requires extensive experience in the tourism industry, travel trade marketing, as well as expertise in brand management, destination marketing, loyalty programs, and business development.
  • The Executive Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive brand awareness, enhance the customer experience, and ultimately grow the company's tourism-focused revenue streams.
  • This role requires a dynamic and innovative leader with a deep understanding of the tourism industry and the ability to leverage brand management principles to drive business growth.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Contribution

  • Define and direct the implementation of the annual business plan and targets and set the strategic agenda of the Tourism and Brand Management functions to deliver vision and mission, through building the destination brands.
  • Ensure that the strategy is translated into operational business plans for the destination brands and monitor the performance and execution of those plans in order to achieve functional objectives and deliver the company's strategy effectively.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive brand management strategies to strengthen brand identity, positioning, and equity.

Leadership

  • Oversee the activities of the Tourism and Brand Management functions team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the strategic project management plans, policies and procedures.
  • Build and lead a motivated, engaged and competent team, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals, while ensuring succession planning is managed.
  • Serve as a role model to ensure employees' awareness and commitment to the overall vision, mission, values, fundamentals and strategy to establish a highly engaged and motivated human resources, and continuously improve performance

Budget

  • Lead the preparation of the loyalty program development and implementation budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Operational Marketing

  • Formulate long and short-term marketing strategies and plans for destination brands in line with the overall strategic direction and ensure effective implementation of the strategy by understanding and fulfilling the business and internal stakeholders needs.
  • Build a comprehensive marketing strategy for the destination brands, through understanding the target market traveler as well as key stakeholders needs.
  • Lead the destination brands marketing masterplan and work closely with all the functions to ensure maximum collaboration.
  • Lead marketing research on key marketing concepts, campaigns, messaging statements to position the campaigns as well as measure the effectiveness of campaigns and lead marketing decisions.
  • Launch holistic marketing campaign to market different project and investment opportunities across the different sectors to reach and attract investors.
  • Develop a comprehensive content strategy to support the destination brands, in a way that ensures consistency while maximizing the ROI.
  • Develop the channel management strategy to best deliver the brand and marketing plans, measuring the efficiency and optimizing at all times.
  • Manage relationships with key tourism industry partners, including travel agencies, hospitality providers, and relevant associations.

Destinations PR and Communication

  • Approve Destination Communication strategy for Red Sea and Amaala and ensure that all communication aspects are included and aligned with overall marketing strategy.
  • Formulate the Public Relations strategy for destinations in alignment with the external, and internal directives, develop policies for the key spokespersons to ensure consistency.
  • Develop the PR identity for destination brands and ensure alignment with the overall strategy.
  • Request press conferences as when required to communicate and announce new projects, achievements etc. ensure that consistent information is released to maintain destination brands image.

Branding

  • Formulate/Maintain Red Sea, Amaala, and the destination branding strategies and architectural guidelines and effectively manage the rollout to functions ensuring understanding and buy-in of function heads.
  • Implement a unique branding strategy for the destination brand with an emphasis on creating a reputation as the leading new luxury tourism destination to attract and reach a local and international audience and investors.
  • Develop a tourism trade strategy that ensures the appropriate tourism industry become stakeholders and partners in driving arrivals.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department's systems, processes and practices considering 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

Job Requirements:

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, tourism management, or a related field.
  • Master's or MBA (Preferred)
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in tourism, hospitality, or brand management roles, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership position
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful tourism-focused marketing and brand strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of the global tourism industry, including travel trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape

  • Proficient in data analysis, budgeting, and financial management.

Job Context

  • Executive Tourism and Brand Management Director will primarily be based in RSG HQ and may need to travel as needed
