Position: Business Unit Manager

Location: Saudi Arabia– Riyadh

Type: Full-time

The role of the Business Unit Manager is responsible for supporting and driving one of our large categories across the region. He/She will report directly to the Head of Business Unit and will be instrumental in developing and executing strategies to grow the category, enhance profitability and improve the customer experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to drive the growth of the assigned category.
  • Support the launch of new products and expansion of the product assortment to meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute campaigns that drive category growth.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to stay ahead and ensure the category remains competitive.
  • Use data-driven approaches to identify and prioritize growth opportunities within the category.
  • Support the management of the category's P&L and implement initiatives to optimize profitability.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to understand the drivers of profitability and address any issues.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Continuously improve the customer shopping experience to ensure it is seamless, enjoyable, and customer-centric.
  • Implement customer feedback mechanisms to gather insights and make improvements based on customer needs and preferences.
  • Work with customer service teams to address and resolve customer issues promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and innovations to continually enhance the customer experience.
  • Collaborate with sourcing team to develop joint business plans that align with category goals and drive mutual growth.
  • Monitor suppliers' compliance with ABYAT's policies and standards, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and legal requirements.
  • Identify and recommend new segments to enhance the category's product assortment and competitive edge.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and category metrics at input and output levels.
  • Use analytical tools and techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth.
  • Leverage customer data and analytics to understand behavior, preferences, and trends, driving personalized shopping experiences.
  • Partner with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional strategies that align with category goals.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure efficient inventory management and timely product availability.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Liaise with the product development team to align on product launches, enhancements, and discontinuations.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects to represent category interests and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Ensure seamless execution of category plans by coordinating efforts across different departments and functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing, management, engineering
  • MBA/Master degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in category management, vendor management, and strategy development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to coordinate with and drive cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive category growth and profitability.
  • Deep curiosity to uncover how things work and a passion for improving customer experience.
  • Leadership presence with excellent communication skills, capable of representing ABYAT at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
