The Vice President of Special Projects will be responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives and complex projects across various departments within the organization. This individual will work closely with senior leadership to define, plan, and manage high-priority initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. The VP of Special Projects will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and play a key role in driving organizational change and business transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage critical, high-visibility special projects across multiple business functions.
  • Project Management: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various departments, including operations, marketing, finance, and HR, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of special projects.
  • Business Transformation: Drive change management initiatives, support innovation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing regular updates, presenting findings, and advising on critical business decisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with special projects and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to business operations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of project managers, analysts, and other professionals to ensure project success.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project progress and outcomes; report on results to senior leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and methodologies for managing special projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Resource Allocation: Ensure that resources, including personnel, budget, and time, are optimally allocated to special projects to maximize return on investment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, business operations, or a related leadership role, with at least 5 years at an executive level.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), including certification (PMP, PgMP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to think strategically and implement innovative solutions to drive business success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with executives, stakeholders, and staff at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in leading change management efforts and fostering organizational transformation.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
