Job Summary

The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading the strategic marketing, branding, and communication. This role involves developing and executing innovative marketing strategies to drive revenue, enhance brand awareness, and position the resort as a premier luxury destination. The Director will oversee digital marketing, public relations, social media, partnerships, and promotional campaigns while ensuring alignment with Shangri-La's global brand standards.

As Director of Marketing & Communications, we rely on you to:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy to drive business growth, increase market share, and enhance brand positioning.
  2. Lead the creative direction and execution of all marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency with Shangri-La's brand identity.
  3. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to optimize marketing strategies.
  4. Ensure all marketing materials, advertisements, and promotional content reflect the luxury standards of the Shangri-La brand.
  5. Oversee the hotel's digital presence, including the website, SEO, paid digital advertising, and content marketing.
  6. Develop and manage the resort's social media strategy, ensuring engaging and high-quality content that aligns with brand values.
  7. Drive online traffic, direct bookings, and customer engagement through data-driven digital marketing initiatives.
  8. Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling visual and written content for digital platforms.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and key stakeholders to enhance the resort's visibility.
  10. Oversee the creation of press releases, media kits, and storytelling initiatives that showcase Shangri-La's unique offerings.
  11. Act as the key spokesperson for media inquiries and public relations activities.
  12. Ensure crisis communication protocols are in place and manage brand reputation in case of PR challenges.
  13. Align marketing initiatives with the revenue objectives of rooms, F&B outlets, spa, and events.
  14. Support the sales team with strategic marketing efforts to attract leisure and corporate clients.
  15. Develop innovative partnerships and collaborations to expand brand reach and drive business opportunities.
  16. Plan and execute marketing campaigns for seasonal promotions, hotel events, and product launches.
  17. Oversee the organization of high-profile events, media familiarization trips, and influencer collaborations.
  18. Monitor campaign performance and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in luxury hospitality marketing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  3. Strong understanding of luxury branding, guest expectations, and high-end customer engagement.
  4. Proven track record in digital marketing, social media management, and online brand building.
  5. Ability to create compelling marketing campaigns and storytelling initiatives that differentiate the brand.
  6. Established network within the hospitality, travel, and lifestyle media industry.
  7. Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
