Strategy and Performance Management

  1. Contribute to the development and execution of the department long-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the unit's strategic priorities and the corporate strategies.
  2. Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.
  3. Support in the monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators related to the department in order to track performance and recommend corrective action.

People Management

  1. Manage the activities of direct reports to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the annual business plans, and policies and procedures.
  2. Manage the effective achievement of the department's objectives by setting individual targets, recruiting, and developing staff, and conducting and reviewing performance appraisals for direct reports to maximize performance.
  3. Manage the training and development of team members to ensure continuous progression and a high level of competence within the team.

Organization Structure

  1. Support the manager in defining an optimum structure for the department so that resources are optimally utilized, and communication can take place efficiently.

Budget Planning

  1. Provide input into the preparation and consolidation of the department's budget and advise line management on risks and opportunities.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  1. Recommend improvements to departmental procedures and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, systems, and controls covering the assigned areas of responsibility so that all activities meet Company standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, align with business requirements, and increase operational efficiency.
  2. Identify opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking into account 'international leading practice' to improve business processes and increase operational effectiveness.

Corporate Governance

  1. Ensure that there is an appropriate internal control framework in place within the Company to effectively manage Key Business Risks.
  2. Ensure that the Company operates in an environment of strong Corporate Governance and ensure timely and effective compliance with all audit obligations (internal or external) and Company secretarial and corporate governance legislation & regulations as they apply to the Company.
  3. Understand the implications of any changes & developments for the company and plan & manage change where required.

Reporting

  1. Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the department's requirements, policies, and standards.

Change Management

  1. Assist the management of change through continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking into account 'international leading practice' and changes in the business environment to improve business performance and operational excellence.

Achieving Annual Sales / Targets

  1. Ensure that the company is achieving its showroom sales and margin targets as per the plan and within the specified timelines.
  2. Oversee the development of monthly/quarterly sales plans and ensure that showroom sales meet agreed targets as per the plan.
  3. Maintain strong supervision of the team and ensure that each one of them is achieving their sales target both in quantity and quality.

Team Development and Influence

  1. Effectively recruit, induct, lead, manage, train, and develop showroom sales manager and other staff to agreed procedures and standards.
  2. Ensure the effective management of all showroom sales staff and adequate staffing levels throughout the business.
  3. Provide support to staff so they have the opportunity to develop their skills in the role and achieve growth in sales.
  4. Agree performance objectives & KPIs with direct reports and ensure the same is converted to all units/functions.
  5. Ensure that staff is strictly following the standard methodology of the company/brand.
  6. Ensure that all performance issues and other issues are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  7. Promote a customer care approach within the department, investigating complaints or issues of poor customer care, both timely and efficiently.
  8. Maintain and develop beneficial working relationships with other company departments to further strengthen the organization's objectives, including appropriate attendance at Management Team meetings.
  9. Work closely with HR to develop HR plans for key members of the sales team that underpin individuals' achievements, personnel career development, and address short- and long-term needs.

Market Research & Competitor Analysis (Business Development)

  1. Analyze product in conjunction with showroom sales strategy and market trends, recommend new strategies based on market trends, taking into consideration increase in competition from competitors and the overall macro and micro economic conditions.
  2. Monitor and review collection of data and provide management with regular updates on information and intelligence about competitor's activities and analyze development plans based on these strategies.
  3. Recommend pricing of the product based on demand and the value of similar products in the market.
  4. Assess competitor's strategies and recommend improvements in showroom sales plans.

Working Capital Management

  1. Implement a proper system to improve the cash cycle/cash management.
  2. Ensure that showroom sales staff are strictly following the discount policy of the company.
  3. Ensure that the team is doing sufficient follow-up for the balance payments.
  4. Ensure that all the payment/cheques received by the showrooms are timely deposited in the banks (within the same day).
  5. Devise a system to control inventory.

Customer Care

  1. Deliver a customer service-focused culture across the Retail.
  2. Lead the Commercial Services team in creating a culture of excellence in customer service, ensuring that customers' expectations are exceeded whenever possible.
  3. Ensure that all outlets are clean and tidy and that maintenance needs are reported immediately and rectified promptly.
  4. Ensure that all staff and contractors treat customers in a friendly and polite manner and do everything in their power to exceed customers' expectations.
  5. Deal with customer feedback, whether positive or negative, in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner.
  6. Ensure all staff receives the appropriate training on a regular basis.
  7. Effectively manage promos and welcome festivals and any other key event, including get-togethers, if necessary. Ensure that retail staff are portraying a positive image, both internally and externally of the company by displaying high standards of service, integrity, punctuality, politeness, and professionalism.

Skills

  1. Essential: bachelor's degree in related field.
  2. Preferred: master's degree in related field.
  3. Leadership skills to run multiple site retail business.
  4. High commercial sense in monitoring cost and sales to drive profitability.
  5. Able to run analysis on reports, easy to make cross ratio analysis.
  6. Technical affine in furniture/room dimensions.
  7. Extensive experience in getting a kitchen sales contract closed.
  8. Natural leadership habit, gains authority easily.
  9. Technical and commercially updated on recent developments, to be a technical and commercial consultant to the Sales team.
  10. PC affine, working on different Windows PC-based systems.
  11. SAP Business One experience would help, 3D Design software experience desired.
  12. Advanced Windows Office user.
