We are seeking a Commercial and Contracts Director to be part of the team support the growth of SYSTRA in Saudi Arabia.. You will be responsible for leading our commercial approach, training and development of other Commercial staff and Project leadership operating within projects in Saudi Arabia. You will have responsibility for assisting the operations to deliver against the commercial objectives set out each year in its annual budgets and building the business resilience needed for its longer term, sustainable growth, as well as for the collection of cash.

**Main duties**:

- Overall responsibility for supporting the Business Line Leads and Project Directors in the delivery of projects to the contractual arrangements and the required commercial outcome (including the contracted profit margin) all in accordance with the agreed financial objectives
- Take the lead role for establishing partnering and sub consultancy agreements in coordination with business development, legal, finance and business ownership.
- Assume leadership and ownership of cohesive and effective commercial offerings for major bids and proposals, while collaborating with business owners to ensure alignment of goals with respect to profitability, competitiveness, and risk profile.
- Developing commercial understanding and competence within the Project Management and Design delivery staff in Saudi Arabia
- Support the Project-based Commercial staff within the Country’s live projects
- Commercial review and audit of live projects in Country
- Provide guidance to project teams to ensure a consistent approach to billing in line with contractual arrangements is maintained to maximise positive cash flow.
- Influence behaviours to provide early warnings of risk to projects financial health
- Assist in the continuous improvement of contract processes through refining contract formulation activities, systems and procedures.
- Claims - help projects as required to evaluate and recommend claims, including the calculation of losses.
- Formulate strategies to resolve Contract and Commercial issues.
- Provide advice regarding contract procurement and types of underlying contracts and agreements (as necessary).
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Professionally qualified (RICS or other equivalent institution)
- Minimum 15 years of experience
- Strong working knowledge of FIDIC suite of contracts. Effective commercial/contract management skills with knowledge of best practice contract methodologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to present to and interface with executive leadership.
- Effective management of variations and claims processes, claims preparation
