**Project Overview**
Bechtel is supporting the development of The New Murabba Project Infrastructure, which will be built around the concept of sustainability, featuring green areas and promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community activities. It will feature an iconic museum, a university, an immersive theater, and more than 80 entertainment and culture venues. The project will cover an area of 19 square kilometers and accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents.
The project will offer more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and more than 980,000 sqm of retail space, as well as 1.4 million sqm of office space, 620,000 sqm of leisure assets, and 1.8 million sqm of space dedicated to community facilities.
The New Murabba project will offer a unique living, working and entertainment experience within a 15-minute walking radius and will have its own internal transport system.
**Responsibilities**:
- Implements Contract & Commercial Management Procedures for the administration of assigned Contracts.
- Independently and proactively establishes and maintains direct working relationships with contractor, consultant and customer staff required to successfully administer contracts.
- Effectively administers assigned contracts and implements appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with contract requirements.
- Works with other Project Team members to ensure that actions or inactions which could result in contract changes or claims are identified and provides recommendations accordingly
- Administers complex contract changes by negotiating with contractor and customer personnel and obtaining settlement.
- Represents customer in contractual discussions of moderate complexity.
- Prepares and maintains control and status reporting documents.
- Proactively provides management with information regarding potential financial or technical difficulties.
- Leads moderately complex contract formation activities including preparation of RFP, bid criteria and evaluation process in coordination with, and as required by the customer and in line with established procurement strategy and procedures.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other industry related field along with 15+ years of experience OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 20+ years relevant work experience is required.
- Detailed knowledge of procurement regulations, policies and practices and experience in the formation and administration of major contracts
- Specialized courses or experience in pricing, contract law, negotiations and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices and policies, procedures and work practices.
- Demonstrated high standard in oral and written communication skills.
- A proven track record in administering different contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.
- Experience in Commercial or Contracts Management on mega-projects.
- Experience in developing potential solutions to contractual problems to and recommending to management.
- Previous international experience in the Middle East region is favorable.
