Responsibility:
- Manage the complete road transport operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Ensure effective and efficient service with better utilization of all available resources.
- Involve in daily transport operations in all regions and ensure customers’ requirements are met without any delivery delay, transit damages or demurrages.
- Manage the activities of staffs in relation to transport operational duties like planning, loading, dispatching, tracking, monitoring, obtaining PODs and maintenance of trucks.
- Monitor the general operations department to make sure SOP guidelines are followed with safety measures, Government orders and administrative policies.
- Ensure all transportation SLAs are met with agreed timelines and resources.
- Work closely with Micro Transport Team and ensure that this tool is fulfilling all our transport operating model and business requirements.
- Monitor whether all region users are creating, updating, maintaining, and projecting all records in the Micro Transport tool accurately and regularly.
- Monitoring and approving the justified Overtime, Trip Money, and any other operational expenses (petty cash) that occurs while performing regular duties or emergency tasks.
- Develop and implement internal transportation policies across units within the company.
- Take care of customer’s and vendor’s grievances if any, which are related to transport operations and ensures the smooth and healthy relationship with them always.
- Closely work with control tower and respective regional transport supervisors and support them to achieve their KPIs all the time.
- Follow-up with control tower and regional supervisors on their regular responsibilities and monitor their performance and guide them for consistent improvements & achievements.
- Ensuring all region team members are given adequate rest and approving their annual vacations on regular intervals without affecting the daily operations and within the company guidelines.
- Appoint and endorse competent transportation staffs. This usually involves carrying out interview, selection, training, and performance appraisal of every transportation personnel.
- Conduct necessary investigation(s) to determine the root cause of problems like incidents and accidents. And to set up safety measures and policies to avoid such reoccurrences.
- Ensure appropriate billings are captured and invoices are submitted to our clients and follow-up for payments with them for the service provided.
- Supports our vendors in any payment delay and follow-ups with our accounts department.
- Implement management decisions on salary patterns and pay structure to the entire team.
- Develop and implement plans that will lead to improvement in company image & revenue.
- Maintain open dialogue with other units’ managers so as to organize activities that will enhance company’s general performance and reduce unnecessary expenses if any.
- Evaluate and make recommendation to management with appropriate documents for the acquisition of new fleets or the replacement of old ones.
- Negotiate with operators and carriers for their best services and for fair rates.
- Provide overall performance report to management on workforces as on when required.
- Monitor and follow up the insurance claims and R&M of trucks with the service providers.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in overall Road Freight Transportation activities.
