Senior Credit Controller Job Description

\

The Senior Credit Controller will be responsible for managing a team of credit controllers, ensuring the smooth operation of the credit control function, and achieving business objectives.

\

This role requires a high level of expertise in credit control, leadership, and communication skills, with a focus on guiding, coaching, and developing the team to achieve optimal results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of credit controllers, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.\
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the credit control function, ensuring timely payment from customers and meeting account receivables targets.\
  • Develop and implement effective credit control strategies, working closely with the senior credit control manager.\
  • Collaborate with other credit team members to facilitate efficient daily activities.\
  • Collect debts in a timely manner, adhering to agreed-upon timetables, systems, and methods.\
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation for receiving payments.\
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to resolve invoice delivery, payment collection, and payment disputes.\
  • Notify relevant parties of any issues that may impact collection, credit offered, or future performance.\
  • Perform regular account reconciliations and balance confirmations.\
  • Communicate disputed invoices, credit notes, and facilitate prompt resolution.\
  • Provide weekly reports to the senior credit control manager on account positions and potential payment issues.\
  • Assist in producing monthly debtors' information.\
  • Coordinate with advocates for legal cases, maintaining an up-to-date record of pending cases.\
  • Manage bank deposits and withdrawals.\
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the senior credit control manager.\

Requirements:

  • A diploma, bachelor's degree, or higher in a relevant field.\
  • A successful track record in credit control or a similar environment.\
  • At least 4 years of experience in a credit control function or similar environment.\
  • Strong knowledge and experience of legal credit control processes.\
  • Leadership experience, ensuring deadlines are met, queries answered, and workloads balanced.\
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.\
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.\
