Job Title: Environmental Director

At Asterix Communications, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Director to join our integrated Environmental team in KSA and the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the development of strategic goals for environmental activity in KSA, ensuring that environmental business objectives are met efficiently and effectively, and developing and implementing department organization, procedures, policies, and management procedures for environmental services in KSA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of strategic goals for environmental activity in KSA
  • Ensure that environmental business objectives are met efficiently and effectively
  • Develop and implement department organization, procedures, policies, and management procedures for environmental services in KSA
  • Maintain good working relationships with Setec group specialized companies to ensure effective coordination for environmental business in KSA
  • Direct and oversee environmental staff in KSA to ensure that they are motivated and trained, and that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard
  • Anticipate the vacancies and management of the departures/replacements
  • Capitalize the best practices and liaise with Setec entities in France for global capitalization
  • General monitoring of environmental operations in KSA, reporting & dashboards
  • Manage and forecast budget needs and requests for the department
  • Management of contracts and (if any) sub-consultant's agreements
HSE Roles, Responsibilities and Accountability:

In addition to your responsibility towards following ALPIN's Integrated Management System, every employee at ALPIN is required to familiarize themselves with ALPIN's Environmental Impact Assessment and contribute towards minimizing their individual environmental impact in the course of their work. It is the duty of all employees to act within the legal responsibilities imposed upon them and the Company's Quality, Environment and Health & Safety policies. All employees must familiarize themselves with the Company's Integrated Management System's policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Biology or Science
  • Environmental Engineering background with preferably more than 15 years of experience, with a part of that experience in the Middle East
  • Excellent written & spoken English
  • Written and Spoken Arabic is a plus
  • Written and Spoken French is a plus
  • Presentation and Communication skills
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with a history of taking initiative to solve problems
  • Ability to work on multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of follow-through and communication with key stakeholders
  • Dedication to completing projects on time and within budget
  • Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly effective communicator with clear and concise writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to maintain organized, detailed, and accurate project records
  • High degree of professionalism with an ability to interact with others at all levels
  • KSA Driver's license & personal mode of transportation
