About the Role
A Sales Assistant at GMG will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth by maximizing opportunities and providing outstanding support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate product features and benefits to customers; showcase product use and handling
- Educate clients on brand quality standards and specifications
- Advise customers on product ranges best suited to their needs; answer queries to inform purchasing decisions
- Provide information on warranties, features, specifications, maintenance and care of products
- Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved (or escalated) and customer service is of exceptional standard
- Maintain awareness of new product launches, promotional events and sales
- Achieve sales targets by using sales techniques, upselling and cross-selling
- Verify promotions and pricing are accurate and in line with company standards and policies
- Compute sale prices and discounts as applicable; maintain sales records
- Process cash, change and credit payments; generate invoices and receipts
- Operate as a cashier and ensure accuracy in money handling
- Follow after-sales processes and adhere to repair/return policies and procedures
- Adhere to loss prevention, inventory control and standard operating procedures
- Assist with store merchandising, including product placement and arrangement
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and grooming etiquette in-store at all times
Self-Management:
- Set performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and achieve them throughout the year
- Take ownership of personal learning agenda by identifying development needs and agreeing on an individual development plan
- Stay up-to-date with professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth
