In this pivotal role, you will lead the development, implementation, and management of HSE systems and reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices.
Your expertise will play a critical role in promoting a safe working environment while effectively communicating HSE performance and compliance throughout the organization.
**Responsibilities**:
- Analyze business processes to determine documentation requirements. Gather information through research, SME interviews, source documents, and review of existing documentation. Write various types of documentation, such as operational procedures, manuals, job aids, forms, and reference guides.
- Updating and identifying improvement opportunities in the QIC HSE Management System ensuring compliance with ISO 45001. Keep accurate records of HSE MS reviews and updates.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace incidents and injuries.
- Review and analyze injury, property damage, and statistical loss data and work with management to update HSE Management Systems to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
- Participate in developing and promoting on and off-job safety educational programs, to address safety issues or concerns. Assigned tasks may include preparation of articles for publication, development of promotional materials, and delivery of presentations.
- Driven self-starter with the ability to take ownership, plan and react effectively.
- Tenacious, confident, articulate, flexible and communicative at all levels of an organization.
- Data literate, analytical and process driven, preferably with some process mapping exposure.
- Required personality traits, balanced, meticulous, consistent, contextual, approachable, trustworthy, flexible, creative and inclusive.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 9-12 years of relative experience in HSE management, with a strong focus on systems and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to the construction and real estate industry.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective HSE systems and processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Certifications in HSE management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) are advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in preparing executive level health, safety and environmental reports. Experience using and setting up HSEQ Digital Data Solutions.
