Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented, experienced and self-directed Event Marketing Manager to develop and grow the cloud computing businesses in the MENAT region. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an exciting, industry leading technology business.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The Event Marketing Manager role is responsible for developing, executing and measuring highly impactful customer focused events and campaigns. The key focus is on supporting AWS hosted and 3rd party events end-to-end, including concept, content, digital setup, demand generation, budgeting and sponsoring, design, staffing, onsite support, execution as well as follow up and reporting. Events will be in-person, virtual, and hybrid. The Event Marketing Manager will own events entirely and lead virtual teams for large-scale activities in MENAT (e.g. AWS Summit Dubai, Gitex, LEAP, Cloud Days). The role is also responsible to operate the new AWS Experience Center in Dubai, regularly working with customers and AWS Sales Teams directly. This role includes interaction with AWS partners, customers, agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Key Result Areas:
  1. Execute a comprehensive event plan within the allocated time frame and budget
  2. Use data and customer feedback to constantly improve event programs and the customer experience
  3. Drive digital and social media marketing campaigns to generate awareness and demand for events
  4. Manage event agencies and vendors (in local and English language)
  5. Adapt global event programs to local needs incl. localization
  6. Develop and manage marketing material and assets such as branded booths and swag
  7. Improve scalable processes to provide marketing event support efficiently to a variety of internal stakeholders
  8. Drive adoption and results of the AWS Experience Dubai
  9. Deliver results including clear ROI reporting

This role will include regional and international travel.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Implement event strategy in alignment with key stakeholders, working backwards from business and marketing strategies, priorities and goals
  2. Own, plan and deliver events end-to-end while staying within budget, leading and coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering against set goals
  3. Serve as event manager, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: pre-event consultation and planning, venue selection, vendor management, agenda development and show flow, event promotion and registration, printing and shipping, budget management, event staffing, on-site event management
  4. Post-event, drive follow-up actions to ensure goal achievement and gather feedback to inform future strategy and delivery
  5. Simplify processes, establish scalable mechanisms and drive innovative customer experiences
About the team

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The MENAT Marketing team is a talented, experienced and diverse team that is distributed across the regions they are covering (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field and numerous years of work experience in an event-related role delivering events against clear business outcomes, KPIs (e.g. SQL) and ROI
  2. Experience in developing, owning and executing successful B2B event programs end to end in the respective region
  3. Prior experience working with cross-functional and international teams driving scale
  4. Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
  5. Fluent in Arabic
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Masters's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  2. Experience in driving innovative brand presence at large B2B trade shows
  3. Experience in managing large-scale events (similar to AWS event formats)
  4. Work history in a (global) tech company
