About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Generator Excitation Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the commissioning of electrical generators and excitation control systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation of equipment and functionality as specified.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cold and hot commissioning activities of generator and excitation control systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation of equipment and functionality as specified and technically vital.
  • Responsible for the generator excitation, protection, and synchronization systems.
  • Optimization of controls and regulations.
  • Good analytical skills, as well as the ability to independently work out complex concepts and solutions.
  • Tackle hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, detailing problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Carrying out trial operations and customer training as well as technical customer advice.
  • Carrying out troubleshooting and being the contact person for incident analyses.
Requirements
  • Bachelors in electrical engineering or comparable qualification, with a specialization in the field of electrical and control technology, power plant technology, energy technology or comparable training.
  • Mandatory few years of professional experience in field service, especially in the commissioning of generators and generator-related control technology or commissioning of electrical protection systems (e.g., SIPROTEC or similar) or commissioning of start-up frequency converters/excitation equipment, testing electrical component.
  • Declared intention to live and work abroad for long period.
  • Good knowledge of energy production and distribution is desirable.
  • Valid passport and driving license.
  • Willingness to regular travel worldwide and to be away from home for long periods of time with short notice to mobilization.
  • Able to work on weekends.
  • High level of written and spoken English.
  • Critical thinking, dynamic performance, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with clients or others.
  • Resilient, communicative personality, empathy, and team-working skills.
  • Interest to contribute to a successful energy transition.
