General Manager - Business Development (KSA)

As a key member of the Management Team of the BU Vopak Asia and Middle East (Vopak AME), you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of the business strategy and plan of KSA. This includes identifying, initiating, developing, and guiding the growth potential in the energy transition field in the AME division, focusing on KSA. Business development activities will involve developing energy transition projects and marketing new business concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the complete Business Development plan through expansion in existing and new markets and targeted acquisitions in Vopak AME division.
  • Participate in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and divestment projects in division AME.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, competitors, and government-owned companies in KSA.
  • Develop and manage a network in KSA with relevant internal and external stakeholders in the functional area, representing Vopak's interest in the main platforms aligned with Vopak AME.
  • Understand the regulatory environment and identify applicable subsidies and grants.
  • Coordinate the work of the project development team, including relevant functions (engineering, legal, finance, etc...) and external consultants supporting opportunity development.
  • Provide input on Vopak's global strategy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of successful project development/investment experience in infrastructure or oil & gas projects.
  • Familiarity with the KSA economy, including users, producers, consumers, opportunities, technologies, cost drivers, and key risks.
  • Familiarity/competence with project management processes and fundamentals.
  • Track record of relevant professional experience working with and influencing large, interdisciplinary, and international teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited guidance.
  • Flexible mindset, able to challenge traditional thinking and work outside the comfort zone.
  • Strong business acumen, commercial creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
