Roles and responsibilities

The role is primarily responsible for supporting the Safety and Quality team, through the management and administration of the Line Operational Safety Audit (LOSA) Program to provide outputs to flight operations, Cabin Services, and others, as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Meet roles and responsibilities of Key Safety Personnel (KSP) GACAR Part-5.
Establish and manage the LOSA program and all its required elements.
Create the required committees and reports.
Manage safety risks (hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation) in relationship with LOSA.
Create and conduct risk assessment in relationships to given roles.
Ensure establishment of two-way communication with all crew members and the flight operations management.
Communicate LOSA program outcome to concerned management levels including flightcrew members.
Develop safety promotion materials in regard to LOSA.
Assist the Safety Manager & Compliance Manager with development of continuous
improvement efforts, documentation of processes, procedures, and controls of SMS and maintain policies and procedures in an SMS manual, reviewing and updating of policies and objectives.
Participate in the department safety audit programs (Operations department).
Support the implementation and maintenance of the SMS, and QMS.
1. Develop and Implement Safety Audits:
Design and implement comprehensive safety audits to evaluate operational safety practices and identify potential risks.
Conduct regular safety audits across various departments, sites, or facilities to ensure adherence to safety standards.
2. Monitor Safety Performance:
Track and analyze safety metrics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs.
Identify trends in accidents, incidents, near-misses, and non-compliance to recommend corrective actions.
3. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
Ensure the organization complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines or any other relevant standards.
Stay updated on changes in safety laws, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring the organization adapts accordingly.

Desired candidate profile

Airline Rated Pilot preferably A320/ A330 airbus family
IATA SARPs/ ICAO annexes / SMS courses/ Regulatory and GACARs general knowledge.
Safety & Quality audit programs knowledge.
Minimum 6 years' experience IOSA Auditor, Safety & Quality Audit.
Airline Pilot (A320) Experience.
SMS and QMS.
Data collection & analysis.
Principles of Risk Management.
GACARs regulations.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities in operations.
Collaborate with department heads and safety teams to develop strategies for mitigating identified risks.
Training and Education:
Lead or coordinate safety training programs for employees to ensure awareness and understanding of safety protocols.
Provide coaching and guidance on best safety practices and emergency response procedures.
Safety Culture and Awareness:
Foster a culture of safety within the organization, ensuring that safety is prioritized in all aspects of operations.
Promote employee engagement in safety programs and encourage reporting of hazards or safety concerns.
