**JOB PURPOSE***
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the BAE Systems majority owned Joint Venture company ‘Saudi Maintenance and Supply Chain Company’ (SMSCMC) as a Bid Manager.
This challenging role requires significant business acumen, Commercial experience, platform/product knowledge and possession of the full Bid Management skillset.
The role will involve working with a multi-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT) to deliver the BAE Systems strategy in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and cement the role of SMSCMC as the Supply Chain partner of choice.
**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES***
As part of future bid activity, the individual will lead the team to develop the following:
Solution Design
Clear strategy and scope definition (capability enhancement, aircraft manufacture, IKIP/ localisation, in-service support)
Location requirements / Infrastructure
Supply chain manpower
Logistics (KSA and European) including import/export, tax and capacity
Range and scale of IP, SRIs, BDS, repairs and engines
Potential support to IKFA.
Contracting Mechanism
Bid activities including pricing and clearance
Corporate ROS/Shareholder requirements
One team approach into the Customer
Support to LCM activities
Review of enhanced future scope
Supplier solution including purchasing strategy
The individual will be responsible for:
The development and delivery of bid activities in support of the SMSCMC IPT.
Management of multiple stakeholders within BAE Systems, customers and suppliers across all levels of seniority to secure decisions and information that is critical to the delivery of WBS activities
Resolving resource conflicts and prioritising workloads and escalating issues where required
Assist in the development, co-ordination and implementation of pricing and payment strategies and policies in assigned areas, in accordance with all relevant SMSCMC requirements and procedures.
Assist in the development, co-ordination and implementation of overall financial targets and budgetary management strategies in assigned areas.
Identify potential areas of risk and carry out risk analyses and assessments to support the minimization of risk.
Contribute to building, managing and maintaining relationships with existing and future customers to ensure the effective management of business agreements and contracts from the cradle to the grave.
Lead, develop and motivate staff to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their responsibilities.
Manage all aspects of the proposal activity and winning the order.
Manage the development and implementation of the Capture Plan encompassing Win Strategy, Price to Win etc.
Ensures smooth hand-over to the Project Manager for delivery phase.
Deliver the lessons learned documentation and project phase handover material as agreed with Delivery Stream director.
**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION***
Understanding of the Company’s Strategy, Products and capabilities.
Understanding SMSCMC Process, Policies and external legal constraints.
Understanding and working with other Functions/roles in business activity in relation to Business Winning.
Understanding, influencing, creating and tracking Customer Requirements.
Solution Concepts, Options and Definition.
Customer and Stakeholder Relationship Management.
Capture Planning & Execution.
Application of Business Winning Processes, policies, tools and Approvals including use of LCM (Phase 0 - 2B).
Degree or equivalent vocational qualification.
Extensive knowledge of business unit policies used by SMSCMC or by its parent company BAE Systems (or a comparable equivalent).
Experience with Logistics Support and Support Solution Contracts (such as Availability contracts) is desirable.
The ability to work alongside and to draft and negotiate agreements with external vendors to conclusion.
The ability to work across functional areas with multiple internal and external stakeholders in Bid Management and Contract Delivery is essential.
Track record of contributing to the management of complex business issues.
Wide ranging experience of dealing with customers and suppliers in the UK, KSA and overseas.
