Job Title: Shop Engineer - Turbomachinery

About the Role:

Ebara Elliott Energy is seeking a skilled Shop Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. As a Shop Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the technical integrity of all work performed in the Repair Shop.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, budget, schedule, and perform engineering assignments to meet specified objectives within allocated time, schedule, cost, and constraints.
  2. Develop and apply designs for new products, special applications, and existing products/systems improvements.
  3. Plan, prepare, and execute experimental programs for the development of new or existing products, shop order tests, design procedures, methods, or systems.
  4. Initiate changes to existing component designs and selections as required for shop orders, product improvements, manufacturing considerations, and field modifications.
  5. Provide participative direction to junior-grade associates in the calculation and analysis of data and final reporting.
  6. Provide technical information, coordinate, and follow up in intra/inter-departmental activities to ensure conformance to design and quality standards.
  7. Prepare inspection reports, evaluate inspection findings, and propose repair recommendations for turbomachinery components.
  8. Approve layouts and drawings for assigned projects or shop order tests, issue appropriate documentation, and inform supervision of activity status.
  9. Provide specialized technical support/information to Sales, Project Management, Marketing, and service as assigned.
  10. Maintain awareness of new and state-of-the-art technology, competitive intelligence, and new turbomachinery applications/user requirements.
  11. Maintain knowledge of company objectives and technical plan as applied to assignment and related products/systems/functions.
  12. Participate in Product Management Team activity on specific assignments.
  13. Promote, implement, and reflect productivity and quality ideas as relates to assigned function.
  14. Pursue a personal career development plan prepared in conjunction with supervision.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements:

  1. Recognized degree in engineering required (ideally with relevant experience in rotating equipment).
  2. Proven experience in rotating equipment repair or a manufacturing environment.
  3. 4-5 years industry experience is preferred.
  4. AUTOCAD software knowledge is preferred.
  5. Good understanding of engineering practices.
  6. Professional and effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  7. Must be confident to support and guide technicians and liaise with internal and external customers.
  8. Computer literate with good knowledge of software packages such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint and the ability to learn Elliott's business software packages.
  9. The ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, service bulletins, service reports, and technical reports.
