About the Role:

The Assistant Manager, Market Development, will play a key role in driving regional growth and development for the US Green Building Council in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This position will be responsible for ensuring continued regional growth, development, and inspiration of the market and stakeholders, facilitating meaningful and effective market engagement, and developing and delivering best-in-class partnership opportunities toward meaningful market transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Development: Develop and implement a work plan aligned with strategic market, product, sector, and regional growth plans as approved by regional leadership.
  • Market Engagement: Regularly engage with sustainability consultants, key client accounts, and other stakeholders, including architects, project management consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identify current market trends and develop robust programs and business models that establish the US Green Building Council as a leading voice and innovator in the market, while attracting new members and supporters to the organization's work.
  • Partnerships: Partner with stakeholder organizations representing developers, facility heads, HVAC consultants, architects, and interior designers to drive market growth and development.
  • Membership and Partnerships: Support the organizational and individual membership program in the region, serving as an account owner for key organizational members in key markets.
  • Performance Metrics: Achieve non-financial performance goals and oversight of programs for membership, partnership, project registration, and other engagement metrics.

Travel and Event Requirements:

  • Travel and in-person event support across the MENA region is required to fulfill the duties of this position.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field required; master's degree in business management preferred.
  • LEED Green Associate credential preferred.
  • 2-3 years of business experience from a real estate or sustainability background with a proven track record of project delivery.
  • Preferred familiarity with the LEED rating system, green building practices, or general sustainability knowledge and interest.

Other Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Driver's license of the country of job opening is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel within the MENA region and occasionally outside the region.
  • Arabic speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who is open to constructive feedback.
  • Natural relationship builder with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and disciplines.
  • A persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Ability to be creative and visionary, yet also be a pragmatic, hands-on business manager who can build the organization's resources and brand to achieve those larger ambitions.
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
  • Commitment to the US Green Building Council's mission.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Location and Benefits:

  • The position will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with travel across the region.
