About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ARFF Training Officer to join our team at Serco. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for directing, leading, and managing the RFFS at the airport and its associated personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Fire Chief in ensuring that all RFFS Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) meet all operational requirements for the Airport Category.
  • Develop and deliver technical instruction/procedures and training material for the learning and development of fire service personnel, in line with an agreed competency framework aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Manage audit, inspection, and assessment processes to maintain the Maintenance of Competence scheme and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement a supporting framework for personal development and career progression of fire service personnel.
Requirements
  • University Degree in a fire/rescue related subject or equivalent certifications.
  • NFPA certified competent in role and qualified to an Aviation Rescue & Firefighting Service standard recognized by international/regional regulatory bodies.
  • Proven experience as an Airport Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, or Station Manager at an International Airport.
  • Fluent in English Communication in both Oral and Written.
  • Valid light and heavy vehicle operator license in country of origin.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to manage a large organization.
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-stress situations and meet the requirements of the current aviation medical standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of ICAO and Airport Emergency Planning regulations, with experience in strategic planning and project management.
  • Professional certifications such as Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) or National Equivalent, and Graduate of the City & Guilds Institute of Leadership and Management or National equivalent.
