Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Teacher to join our team at International Schools Group (ISG). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic support to students with diverse learning needs, promoting inclusivity and accessibility in the classroom, and collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective support plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Develop and deliver individualized support plans to meet the needs of students with diverse learning abilities.
    • Provide academic support to students in a one-on-one or small group setting, focusing on areas such as reading, writing, math, and study skills.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement inclusive lesson plans and assessments.
  • Assessment and Reporting
    • Administer and interpret assessments to identify student strengths and areas of need.
    • Develop and implement strategies to support students in meeting academic goals and targets.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives to support students with diverse learning needs.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in inclusive education and learning support.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to student support and inclusion.
  • Communication and Community Engagement
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
    • Engage with the broader school community to promote inclusivity and accessibility.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (Master's preferred).
    • Certification as a teacher.
    • Sound knowledge of Google Suite and MS Office.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Experience supporting students academically in an international context.
    • Leading and inspiring students to be informed and inspired community members and leaders.
    • Organizing student projects and performance tasks.
    • Documenting curriculum according to Understanding by Design (UbD) principles.
    • Designing standards-based programs.
    • Collaborating in a professional setting with large and small groups of colleagues.
    • Leading groups of students and educators.
    • Conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
    • Teaching multi-sensory educational strategies to improve sensory, perceptual, kinesthetic, executive functioning skills, communication, cognition and social/emotional development.
